Police are calling for help to trace a thug who attacked a woman in Livingston.
The 63-year-old woman was walking along a footpath behind Easter Bankton in Murieston areound 4.30pm on Sunday, December 23, when she was pushed from behind, held on the ground and had her jacket pockets searched.
After finding she had no posessions with her, the suspect escaped empty handed and police were contacted.
Officers are now urging anyone who can help with their enquiries to come forward.
A police spokesmansaid officers are keen totrace the person involvedin the attack.
He said: “The woman was not seriously injured as a result of this attack, but was understandably left incredibly shaken.
“The woman did not see her attacker at any point and so at this time we have no description of the suspect.
“However, given the time of day this incident occurred and the area being popular with dog walkers, there were potentially a number of witnesses who may have seen this incident.
“Anyone who was in the area at the time or who can assist officers is asked to contact police immediately.”
