Nov 6 2008 West Lothian Courier
I RECENTLY attended the annual general meeting of the West Lothian Youth Action Project and would like to congratulate all concerned at this excellent event.
At a time when young people have been getting a bad press it was nice to see the youths making their individual presentations about their voluntary work on the streets with the youth action workers and how this had served to increase their self-esteem and confidence.
Their sincerity in their wish to help others and to encourage them to become involved in this useful work shone through all the contributions.
All of them from the volunteer youth workers to the youth bands who entertained us were a credit to their age group.
There was a wide representation from other volunteer agencies, community councils and the police all of whom continue to give this excellent organisation their support.
Well done everyone and I am sure you will continue to go from strength to strength which can only be good for West Lothian.
