I WOULD like, through your letters page, to thank on behalf of Livingston Cricket Club all who braved the wind and rain last Saturday evening to attend the club's annual fireworks display.
Despite the conditions, the largest turnout ever for the event at Dresselrigg, Murieston, saw a fine display and thanks must also go to Roddy Mackay and his team for sticking manfully to their task of coordinating the display.
Thanks are also due to the local Scouts who by means of their burger stall provided warm sustenance to those who felt the need of it.
Cash donations received before and at the event covered the cost of the display and provided a surplus that will enable the club to continue its development of cricket in the area, so thanks to all those who kindly donated.
The final thank you must go to the club's neighbours for their forebearance in respect of the noise and traffic disruption before, during and after the display.
