I WOULD like, with the help of your letters page, to thank all who contributed to the success of the Bathgate Community Centre Fireworks Display.
In particular the management committee for the organisation, the Ravens Youth Group for the hard graft, the Air Training Corps for staffing the entrance, Tom Hearty and Fantastic Fireworks for lighting up the night, Sibbald Transport for their truck, the traders who came along and supported the evening, Radio Grapevine who provided the soundtrack to the fireworks and Lothian And Borders Police for their reassuring presence on an enjoyable family night.
I would also like to thank the various West Lothian Council departments for their help with the traffic management, barriers, stage set up, generator, sound engineers and park services.
A special thanks to Bathgate Academy Music Dept. and the talented musicians who came along to provide live entertainment.
Also thanks to Jamie Bryce of JBB Developments for the generous sponsorship, which should allow the event to meet all its expenses in order to plan for next year.
However, I cannot forget the most important people of all and that is the public who came along (despite the weather) to make the evening the success that it was.
I am quite sure the community centre would welcome any feedback that could be considered in the planning of next year's event, to ensure the continued enjoyment of the occasion.
