Failure to fly Union flag is disgrace to memory of war heroes

THIS SNP-led council has disgraced the people of West Lothian yet again.

Just 90 years ago this year, thousands gave their life for us all.

It's shameful the SNP try to deny the people of West Lothian their proud Scottish/British heritage identity.

It's very evident that this administration are sticking their fingers up to thousands of us all over the communities of West Lothian in relation to the Union, as well as those who have died for the very freedoms we all enjoy today.

While our soldiers fight in the front line in Iraq or Afghanistan, some giving their life and limbs, these so-called public servants refuse to recognise them by flying the flag of the United Kingdom.

This Tartan Tory SNP/Save St Johns council took the decision not to fly the Union flag 365 days a year last week and it's a disgrace.

Can I remind these public servants that they serve all the people of West Lothian not just the minority of Nationalists; you have no right using the British flag to make some kind of political statement.

We are part of the UK, whether you like it or not, we are not independent and the flag of the UK should proudly fly side by side next to the Saltire every day.

The SNP/Save St Johns/Conservative Provost Tom Kerr must be reminded that thousands fought and died taking the Union Flag into battle, without their sacrifice none of us would be present today.

What baffles people is why you attend memorial services, why fight for war memorials (Councillor Glass), why attend British Legion events, why agree to fly the Union flag on Armistice day then take a vote to keep the UK flag in a cupboard the rest of the year, it's a complete insult to war graves all over West Lothian/Scotland/UK.

If this SNP took the stance of flying the Union flag until Scotland's people decide the future of Scotland then this would be seen as politically correct, what they are doing currently is a dishonour to our war dead.

I urge the majority of people (all faiths, all cultures) to remember these dishonourable deeds, when it comes to the next election.
