ONE again the committee organising the Bathgate Procession and John Newland Festival deserves a vote of thanks from the people of Bathgate, along with all who worked so hard to make the weekend a success.
Despite mixed weather, a large turnout of people was able to appreciate the tremendous amount of work which went into the preparation of the many floats and the decoration of the houses; the participation of the various schools was a delight; and Bathgate’s great musical talent was also on display.
The historical pageant and the procession were a celebration of the town’s sense of community – and in times such as these it was good to be able to focus on something good for a change!
So thank you to Mr Stebbing and the committee and to everyone who spent many weeks and months preparing for the big weekend for all your hard work.
