Susan Boyle really gripped the imagination of American people

I DON’T think anyone in Britain can possibly grasp how Susan Boyle has affected us in the US and elsewhere, and I know no way to convey it.

Also, you don't know how hard and frustrating it was for us not to be able to give her our votes. We had to depend on you there in Scotland and all the rest of the UK.

She should have won. She was the best, and this is her time.

We were all watching on our computers, sending all our love and support to her in our minds, and trying not to go crazy until we hoped to hear them say: the winner is Susan Boyle.
