Proud to fly the flag and for all the right Scottish reasons

TOMMY Davidson is back with a vengeance (Courier letters Thursday, November 19).

I read his article with keen interest and he appears to use the flying of what flag as a smokescreen to hit and ridicule councillor Peter Johnstone.

He is still an angry man and still can’t accept that Labour lost control of Scotland some time ago and he needs to hoist in that shortly that they are about to lose control of the country.

Quite rightly so the Union Jack is the flag of the country, but the Saltire is the national flag of Scotland and any Scot who is proud of his country loves to see the Saltire fly on all our prominent places.

The Saltire is carried into battle with our Scottish regiments and is also the favoured flag carried by our Tartan Army

Now that we are in the United States of Europe without being asked or consulted by the Labour Party and refused a referendum we will soon be upstanding with hand on heart saluting the "sweetie paper" of the UN flag singing "Ode to Joy”.

You can’t blame councillor Johnstone for that Tommy, you will get your answer by looking towards Blair and Brown, the architects of the downfall of Britain.
