Anger over portrayal of Susan Boyle's Blackburn

I READ your article about the residents' anger at how the village of Blackburn was portrayed on a recent television show and would like to support this wholeheartedly.

I am a Susan Boyle fan living in the wealthy south of the UK. I have already written on the Susan Boyle fan site forum http://forum.susan-boyle.com/ saying that I thought that the film was unflattering and unfair to Blackburn – it appeared to be juxtaposing a run-down UK area with the affluent New York.

But as we well know New York has its run down areas, as does Surrey where I live which in parts could be an inner city area.

I hope representation will be made to the programme makers and I will make a complaint to them myself.
