ADDITIONAL resources have been brought in from Nets and Street Cleansing to assist with the treatment of secondary routes and residential areas.
The spokesman added that 400 grit bins in the area were being refilled each day on a priority basis with requests from the elderly or disabled being prioritised, then areas with severe slopes.
This was taken from last week’s West Lothian Courier.
Myself and many other people living in Livingston and Bathgate would like to contradict this statement in the strongest way possible.
The winter conditions have been horrendous, but the real story going on in and around West Lothian is the disgraceful state of the paths and residential streets. Also, my grit bin and the grit bins of friends and families living throughout West Lothian have never been refilled at all throughout this cold snap.
Surely, if 400 grit bins are being refilled "each day", then it would surely make sense, that over the two weeks since this weather began, at least one of our grit bins would have been filled up by now, or at least one of our streets would have been cleared.
West Lothian Council appear to have done nothing to help clear the snow from our paths and residential streets and I can not be the only council tax payer, angered by this!!!
