HAVE our "award winning council" no funds left to buy some grit for our streets after probably blowing millions on that new palatial building in Livingston?
Here in Bathgate there seems to have been little or nothing done in locals streets since the snowy weather arrived forcing the elderly to struggle on treacherous roads to get provisions.
In my own area of Whiteside, there has never been any council vehicle except the bin lorry up here over the whole bad weather period.
They have an enquiry system, on their probably award winning website, that never answers any enquiry you make it would seem. Three times I have tried without any success.
The council now are more interested in facts and figures nonsense and meaningless awards that no-one gives tuppence about, except for the people travelling on expenses to receive them, than doing the jobs they used to do.
They spend around a million on wardens chasing dog owners but fail on the real issues like this bad weather.
It would be interesting to see how much grit has been put down around their palace this winter? Still, as long as they have got their priorities right!
Wonder how many elderly have suffered during this bad spell due to untreated streets?
