Santa's coming to town

SANTAS coming and maybe the snow is too. Family reunions and old festive favourites on the TV are also commonplace at this time of year.

But what are the best and worst things about Christmas?

The Courier took to the streets of Bathgate to find out.

MARK and Marion McCallum from Bathgate were in the town with their daughter Clara, who will be three next week. And they admitted to loving everything about the festive season.

Mark said: I love the atmosphere of Christmas but the best thing is seeing the kids faces when Santa has been.

Marion added: Its Claras birthday soon, so this is probably my favourite time of year. I dont dislike anything about Christmas.

TRACY Peutherer from Armadale is another Christmas fan although she admits to finding it very stressful.

One of the worst things is the expense and the fact you have two months of stress beforehand and then it is over in a day, she said.

BATHGATE resident David Kelly reckons Christmas is bittersweet. The look on the youngsters faces makes it all worthwhile but he hates the mess afterwards.

I love seeing the kids faces when they get their presents, he said. But the mess afterwards is a nightmare.

STUART Kelly, who was with two-year-old Santa fan Steven, Bathgate agreed the delight on kids faces make it all worthwhile.

Seeing the kids so happy when they know Santa has been to visit them is the best thing about Christmas, he said.
