WEST Lothian is an ever growing area, and as such there appears to be a higher need in many areas for additional child care provision.
Registered Childminding is a career which allows many benefits including:being able to stay at home with your own family, contributing to the family income, opening a door to a whole new career path, to name but a few.
West Calder, Polbeth, Fauldhouse, Breich, Addiewell, Stoneyburn, Bridgend, Winchburgh are all areas where the demand is struggling to be met at the moment.
And if people live in any of these areas and have ever thought about childcare as an occupation there is help, support and advice available to take them along this new career path in the county.
Mandy McMahon is the West Lothian Childminding Development Officer for the Scottish Childminding Association .
She says that she can offer full support and training t people willing to take the course.
