ANNIE Harris of Armadale, has celebrated her 100th birthday.
Mrs Harris, was sent a card of congratulations from the Queen, as well as many cards from family and friends.
She was born in Standburn near Avonbridge, before moving to Maddison where she went to school.
She left school aged 13 and began her first job as a ploughwoman’s assistant, before working in the fever hospital in Pilton.
Mrs Harris moved to Heather Bank in Armadale when she married and has lived in the town ever since.
The special day was marked by a visit by family members, Lady Lieutenant Isobel Brydie and West Lothian Provost Tom Kerr.
