A YOUNG visitor to a West Lothian tourist attraction got a present to mark the end of 2008.
Seven-year-old Lindie Taylor, visited Almond Valley Heritage Centre in Livingston on New Year’s Eve with her family.
And as the centre’s 100,000th visitor of 2008, she and her family received an annual season ticket to Almond Valley – personally presented by Ralph the goat.
“This is the first time in our history that we’ve welcomed over 100,000 visitors in the course of one year,” said centre director, Robin Chesters.
“But we had to wait until the last day of the last month to achieve this, it was a real nail-biting finish”.
Almond Valley is West Lothian’s most popular visitor attraction and received a boost earlier this year with the opening of a new soft play area and other new features.
“It’s great to see so many new visitors, even in these difficult financial times” said Robin, “and we’re finding a particular increase in the number of families taking out annual memberships which offer an economical way of enjoying unlimited access throughout the year.”
