NEWSPAPER group Trinity Mirror has appointed a new managing director for their Scottish regional titles.
Bill Steven heads up Scottish & Universal Newspapers, a group of 30 publications which includes the West Lothian Courier.
Bill, 50, has been with the company for 26 years and has held a number of senior management positions.
Most recently he has been commercial director with responsibility for all of the group’s titles across west central Scotland.
S&UN’s wide portfolio includes market-leading local newspapers in Dumfries, Ayrshire, Dumbarton, Paisley, Lanarkshire, Stirling and Perth.
He lives in the South Ayrshire village of Straiton with his wife Lesley and five daughters.
Bill said: “Naturally I am delighted to have been appointed managing director, particularly at such a crucial stage in the company’s development.
“The entire newspaper industry is facing challenging times but I am confident that we in S&UN are in good shape for the future.”
