A WEST Lothian woman has raised a fantastic £6000 for cancer patients.
Kelly Stewart organised a charity dinner dance at Deer Park Golf and Country Club recently in aid of the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre.
The event was a huge success with over 60 local and national companies donating prizes to be won and auctioned on the evening.
Kelly (27), from Addiewell, who works as a finance controller at Deer Park, said she wanted to raise money for Beatson as she knew people affected by cancer.
She explained: “I had been involved in organising smaller fund-raisers before with other people but had never done anything as big as this before.
“I wanted to do it because I work with someone who has throat cancer and my fiance’s mother has cervical cancer and she is being treated at the Beatson.
“Cancer is something that is close to a lot of people’s hearts and I think the outstanding support that we received said it all.
“It look a lot of work to sort out but it was worth it and I’ll definitely do another like it some time in the future.
“I would personally like to thank everyone who contributed to create such a fantastic and worthwhile event.”
