In the golf swing to aid good cause

A CANCER charity are looking for keen golfers in West Lothian to help raise much-needed funds.

The West Lothian Golf Club, located in Bo’Ness, is holding a charity Pro-Am Golf Day in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support on Tuesday, June 2.

Teams of three can enter for £380 including VAT and they will then have a dedicated golf professional playing alongside them for the day followed by a meal in the evening.

With competitions on the day such as a Macmillan sponsored hole where players have to pay a fine if they come in below par, the club hope to raise lots of money to help people living with cancer in the local area.

To enter a team please contact Alan Reid on 01506 825060 or e-mail alanereid@msn.com.

Macmillan Cancer Support Fundraising Manager Fiona Leitch went along to the golf club recently.

Fiona said: “The support which The West Lothian Golf Club are giving to Macmillan in the local area by holding this event is tremendous and greatly appreciated.

“Without the generosity of people such as this we could not continue to fund our vital services for people living with cancer.”

The South of Scotland Fundraising Office for Macmillan Cancer Support is based at 25 High Street, Biggar.
