WALKERS from throughout the West Lothian area are being urged to step out for charity next month.
Breast Cancer Campaign wants to encourage all friends to join forces and walk for breast cancer research on Sunday, August 2, to mark Friendship Day 2009.
Each year millions of people around the world celebrate this day with their closest friends, so it’s the perfect excuse to gather your loved ones and hold a Friendship Walk while raising money to beat breast cancer.
Sarah England, events executive for Breast Cancer Campaign, said: “It’s great to have this day set aside for friends, so why not hold a Friendship Walk with your nearest and dearest and raise money to help us continue funding vital research into breast cancer?
“People could organise a stroll around local beauty spots or perhaps arrange a hike through the countryside. Whatever they choose to do, they simply invite their friends along and ask them to donate money to the campaign while they walk with them over the chosen route.”
And if fundraisers can’t hold a walk on August 2, they could have their own Friendship Day another day at a time more convenient for them.
