WEST Lothian singer/songwriter Adriana Spina is looking forward to a return to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe as she prepares to launch her debut album.
After a busy first half of 2009 that has taken her all over the UK for gigs, Livingston-born Adriana will be returning closer to home to preview tracks from her forthcoming debut album, the appropriately titled Coming Home.
The shows, on Friday, August 14 and Saturday, August 15 will see Adriana playing an acoustic showcase of her songs, accompanied by her full band.
Scots-Italian singer and songwriter Adriana has already accomplished an impressive number of achievements as an independent artist and it's a list that's only going to grow as she prepares to release her debut album later this year.
Having previously supported Sheryl Crow, received five-star reviews at the Fringe in 2008, turned heads on London's live music scene, and performed in America, Europe and throughout the UK, Adriana is shaping up to have her biggest year yet in 2009 with the release of Coming Home.
Blending Americana, folk and rock styles and boasting a stunning vocal range, Adriana made headlines last summer when T in the Park and DF Concerts boss Geoff Ellis handpicked her to support Sheryl Crow on the American superstar's only UK headline date.
Impressing the 2,500 capacity crowd in Glasgow's O2 Academy, Adriana's songs even wowed Sheryl Crow herself who watched from the side of the stage and later told her she had put on a great performance.
Her live performances are not quickly forgotten and she has recently performed with many other high-profile artists, including Paolo Nutini, Eddi Reader, Oh Susanna!, Tracy Bonham, Ryan Bingham, Boo Hewerdine, Dar Williams and Kim Richey.
Adriana's unique and curious slant on the Americana and singer/songwriter genres has proved such a success that she is now regarded as one of the best talents in the independent Scottish music scene.
Her gig at the Acoustic Music Centre at St Brides (venue 123) kicks off at 6.20pm with tickets costing £8 or £6 for concessions.
