Show debut for Kia newcomers

NEW versions of two of Kia's most popular models will be making their debut at next month's Frankfurt Motor Show.

A revamped cee'd range and a completely new Sorento 4x4 will be unveiled at the key European motoring event.

The cee'd, which is built in Europe at Kia's Slovakia factory, will be on sale in Britain as of October 1.

Re-styled by Kia's design chief Peter Schreyer and his German-based team, the latest cee'd has the company's new-look grille and well as comprehensive changes inside and out.

Suspension settings have also been changed to improve the ride.

The new cee'd will be available with a stop/start option which reduces CO2 emissions to 110 g/km, dropping it into the £35 a year tax bracket for private motorists and making it the greenest Kia produced to date.

On average emissions will be cut by five per cent across the cee'd line-up.

Meanwhile the Sorento has been turned into a seven seater and tuned more for use on, than off road.

High-tech features will include keyless entry, an engine start button, in-mirror reversing camera and a panoramic glass sunroof.

The car will also be available with a 2.2-litre diesel engine with the option of automatic transmission.

Prices for both models have still to be announced.
