Safety with style is Mercedes mission
THE new Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe has achieved the highest rating of five stars in the more stringent EuroNCAP crash tests, firmly establishing itself as one of the world's safest luxury motors.
During the course of its development the new E-Class successfully came through over 150 high-speed crash tests and more than 5,000 realistic crash simulations.
That's the kind of thorough, professional research and development you expect from the German luxury car maker, whose buyers expect the best and are willing to pay for it.
The new E-Class Coupe is a particularly sporty interpretation of the E-Class's dynamic design. The Coupe achieves a new world best in terms of drag coefficient: with a Cd-figure of just 0.24, this model is the world's most aerodynamically efficient series-production car. And the model programme includes two new four-cylinder engines, which consume up to 17 per cent less fuel whilst offering a significant increase in performance and torque.
Prices for the E-Class Coupe start at £30,670 for the E250 CGI SE and up to £35,280 for the E350 CDI Sport.
Also relatively new to the range is the classy uprated S-Class, which is surely one of the world's top luxury motors.
The S-Class engine range includes six modern petrol and diesel engines that all benefit from improved fuel consumption and lower emissions. With an average fuel consumption of 37.2mpg, the S 350 CDI BlueEfficiency is one of the most frugal models in the luxury segment.
The S-Class's traditionally exemplary standard of safety is further enhanced with a unique combination of innovative camera and radar-based driver assistance systems.
These systems include Adaptive Highbeam Assist, Lane Keeping Assist and the advanced Night View Assist Plus facility. Other innovations include the Attention Assist drowsiness detection function and automatic crosswind stabilisation.
Prices for this top-notch motor start at £57,790 for the S350 and on up to £59,985 for the S350L CDI.
The popular, and more affordable Mercedes-Benz C-Class, is worth considering. It offers a great drive, comes well equipped with stacks of safety features and good load capacity.
With a vast choice of engines, the C-Class starts at £22,530 for the C80K SE.
