Trimble honoured by university

Nobel Prize-winning politician David Trimble has been honoured by a Scottish university.

The former First Minister of Northern Ireland was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Laws by Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen.

The 64-year-old, whose wife's family comes from the north east of Scotland, said that as "a person deeply involved in university life" he was "delighted" with his latest accolade.
