First ScotRail contract under fire

MSPs have voiced concern about the way ministers decided to extend First ScotRail's contract to run train services.

A watchdog's report last month prompted the resignation of the finance chief from national transport body Transport Scotland who held shares in First Group.

Holyrood's audit committee also hit out at the absence of a documented business case and lack of consultation, when it considered auditor-general Robert Black's report into the ScotRail franchise.
