Accused cried 'crocodile tears'

A man suspected of killing his baby daughter was accused of crying "crocodile tears" when questioned by police, a court has heard.

William Middleton, 33, was also said to have been "vague" in his answers during the interview. But he insisted to officers he did not murder nine-month-old Annalise Middleton and "hated himself" for not being able to save her.

Middleton is accused of murdering Annalise on September 20 last year by setting fire to materials in the house in Brae, Shetland, with the smoke overcoming her.
