Answers called for over fugitive

Opposition parties are demanding answers over the 24 hour gap in informing the public that a "dangerous murderer" had gone on the run.

The Scottish Government is also facing calls for an audit of all inmates at open prisons as the political row continues after lifer John Brown absconded last week.

The row heaped pressure on justice secretary Kenny MacAskill, but he has said he won`t resign.
