The number of young people currently being treated for alcohol addiction in Scotland has more than doubled since 2006, it has emerged.
An investigation by the Sunday Herald newspaper showed that the number of those aged 18 or under in counselling has risen from 689 in November 2006 to 1564.
In 2006 Glasgow City Council had 55 young people in counselling. Now it has 115, according to the paper. NHS Highland saw a rise from two to 22.
