Scattered heavy showers predicted

Scattered heavy showers are due to hit southern Scotland, England and Wales after a series of deluges on Monday.

Wales and Scotland were the worst areas affected on Monday, with heavy rain, lightning and storms hitting the Scottish Highlands and Central Lowlands as the fresher conditions moved in.

Rob Hutchinson from Meteogroup, the weather division of the Press Association, said there was no prospect of a return to the scorching weather during the foreseeable future.
