300 may lose jobs at universities

Nearly 300 jobs are under threat at two Scottish universities, a union has warned.

The threatened job losses could be the tip of the iceberg as some institutions are failing to consult the union, it said.

The claim came from the University and College Union (UCU) which said Scotland is in danger of losing a global lead in higher education.
