New bid for Treasury swine flu cash

Scottish ministers have made a fresh attempt to secure extra money to cover the costs of mass vaccination against swine flu.

Finance Secretary John Swinney wrote to the Treasury this week calling for access to UK Government funds.

His plea was made one month after Health Secretary Nicola Sturgeon argued that mass vaccination was in line with policy across the UK and should be paid for by the Treasury.
