Protests over Sunday ferry service

The first Sunday ferry crossing between Lewis and the mainland took place amid protests about sailing on the Sabbath.

A small group of protesters gathered in the harbour at Stornoway as the ferry departed.

The crossing was undertaken by the route's usual ferry, the MV Isle of Lewis, after a fault in the exhaust was repaired sooner than expected.
