OAP care probe journalist decision

An undercover journalist who was arrested following a BBC investigation into care of the elderly will not face criminal proceedings, prosecutors have confirmed.

Arifa Farooq, 30, took a job as a homecare worker while investigating alleged abuses for the BBC TV programme Panorama. Miss Farooq was arrested earlier this month over an alleged failure to provide accurate personal details to the care providers.

The procurator fiscal in Glasgow confirmed there will be no criminal case brought against her.
