68% ambulance calls due to alcohol

Alcohol is a factor in two-thirds of emergency ambulance calls at weekends in Scotland, it has been revealed.

Figures released at the start of Alcohol Awareness Week showed 68% of the calls were connected to drink.

The Scottish Ambulance Service recorded the role of alcohol every weekend since April to highlight pressures.
