Beatles film adapted for stage show

A film recreating the early days of the Beatles has been adapted for the stage at the Citizens Theatre in Glasgow.

Backbeat tells the story of the band's time in Hamburg, where they honed their stage act. It will be shown next year.

It has been adapted by Iain Softley, who directed the film in 1994, and focuses on the band's original bassist, Scotland-born Stuart Sutcliffe.
