Westminster 'will back Lanarkshire'
The Westminster Government will stand by an area of Scotland heavily battered by the recession, Scots Secretary Jim Murphy has said.
The pledge came when Mr Murphy hosted a jobs summit in Lanarkshire to discuss ways of tackling the recession in the region.
He also spoke of the need for more support for middle-aged jobs-seekers.
