Good Samaritan dies in hospital

A man hit by a van as he tried to help an elderly crash victim has died almost a week after the accident.

The 39-year-old was one of two men struck as they helped a motorist involved in a collision with another vehicle on Sunday January 31.

Police said one motorist, who was driving a BMW car, was taken to Glasgow's Southern General Hospital, where he died on Saturday February 6.
