Help for police officer families
New support for the families of police officers killed in the line of duty has been announced.
Up to £20,000 will be available to dependants through the police survivor support scheme when their pension entitlement ends - they currently have their pensions withdrawn when they form new relationships.
Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill said: "We should never forget those brave police officers who have given their life to protect our communities.
