MSPs debate charity donations law

MSPs are expected to pass a law which will enable a charity to make bigger donations to needy people.

The Ure Elder Fund for Indigent Widow Ladies has been confined by law for the last 104 years to making individual donations of just £25.

The charity's trustees introduced a Private Bill, being debated at Holyrood, which will allow them to increase the amounts they hand out.
