Soldiers food rations 'inadequate'

Food rations for troops have been branded "inadequate" by Labour's political opponents, following reports soldiers are going to battle on a breakfast costing 52p.

The Sunday Post said documents seen by them reveal the daily budget for feeding armed personnel on operations is £3.45.

Of that total, £1.72 is spent on a main evening meal, £1.21 on lunch, and 52p on breakfast, the newspaper stated.
