One person fined under alcohol laws

Only one person has been fined in the past two years for selling alcohol to someone who is already drunk, according to official figures.

The £70 fine was the only one imposed by a court after prosecutions were brought against three people between 2007 and 2009.

The Liberal Democrats, who requested the details from the Scottish Government, said it showed that existing laws are not being enforced.
