Poor February sales for retailers

Retailers suffered their worst February for at least 11 years, sales figures have revealed.

Richard Dodd, of the Scottish Retail Consortium, said the "grim results" were caused by a combination of bad weather and customer caution.

He spoke as the figures revealed like-for-like sales were 1.1% lower than in February last year.
