Labour in greener buses call

Labour will call on the Scottish Government to set up a new £3 million fund to put more environmentally friendly buses on roads.

The party will use a Holyrood debate to urge ministers to set up the fund, which would then provide grants to help bus companies and transport authorities purchase hybrid buses.

Hybrid buses have both a conventional engine and an electric motor, so they use less fuel and emit fewer pollutants than conventional vehicles.
