Young people must be properly represented on licensing board forums to give them a bigger voice on alcohol issues, the First Minister was told.
Labour MSP Dr Richard Simpson highlighted a report lodged this week by a youth panel investigating how to change Scotland's drinking culture. The Young Scot report found that representation was "patchy" across Scotland despite national guidelines which state at least two young people should sit on the groups.
The local forums are intended to influence the decisions of licensing boards across Scotland. Dr Simpson, a member of Holyrood's Health Committee, said the "excellent report" had been discussed at its last meeting.
