SNP seeks defence cash guarantees

The SNP has called on rival parties to give a "cast-iron promise" not to cut Scotland's conventional defence.

The party's Westminster leader Angus Robertson issued the challenge as Nationalists debated the issue at their spring conference in Aviemore.

Mr Robertson used his speech to hit out at the "shocking lack of support for conventional defence in Scotland".
