Seized cash boosts youth projects

Youth groups will be able to fund their activities with £500,000 seized from criminals, it was announced.

Six organisations, including Scouts and Girl Guides, will benefit from the money through the CashBack for Communities programme.

Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill said: "This is a perfect example of bad money being used for good purposes, by turning cash seized from crooks into funds supporting the work of six very deserving youth organisations."
