Soldiers from a Scottish-based battalion have arrived home after a gruelling six-month tour in Afghanistan.
The last of the returning soldiers from 3rd Battalion The Rifles (3 Rifles) were met by family and friends as they returned to their Edinburgh base at Redford Infantry Barracks.
The soldiers spent six months in Helmand province as part of a 1,400-strong battlegroup which included a company from 1st Battalion the Royal Regiment of Scotland, a company from 4th battalion the Rifles and other attached personnel.
