Call for freeze on fishing plans

The Scottish fishing fleet has called for a freeze on any further reduction in days allowed at sea to avert financial collapse.

The industry wants an independent study to show the "level of hardship" experienced by the whitefish, or demersal, fleet.

This would be used to persuade the European Commission (EC) to re-think restrictions.
