Offenders made to repair headstones

Offenders are being told to repair fallen cemetery headstones to repay their debt to society, Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill said.

Gravestones will be fixed and headstones returned to their original position in the pilot project in Edinburgh.

Mr MacAskill said churches and communities can struggle to find the resources to keep cemeteries tidy.
