Police force could cut 194 officers

Central Scotland Police has said that "significant" budget cuts could mean it has to lose almost a quarter of its officers and nearly half its civilian support staff.

The force may have to shed 194 officers as well as 180 support staff over the next four years.

Reductions of that scale would mean the force will lose 23% of its police officers and 47% of its civilian support staff.
