Salmond set for independence push

Alex Salmond is preparing to push Scottish independence as a dominating feature of his campaign for a second term in office, he said.

The SNP strategy for the Holyrood election aims to show that Scotland could deal with the economic crisis without swingeing budget cuts, the First Minister told the Sunday Express newspaper.

But the approach was criticised by Labour's leader at Holyrood, Iain Gray, who said the SNP leader is "out of touch".
